Christmas Celebrations witnessed an enthusiastic start with traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony at Hyatt Regency Gurgaon 

Gurgaon, Nov 19, 2014: The largest MICE hotel in Delhi & NCR region, Hyatt Regency Gurgaon (HRG) kick started Christmas festivities in style with the traditional cake mixing ceremony at its newly launched multi-cuisine restaurant, Kitchen District.

Driven by pastry Chef Ashutosh, the ceremony began by mixing colorful cherries, dates, plums and dry fruits all together in the heady concoction of wine and champagne, as guests who were gathered in large numbers cheered on. Everyone present sported an apron and a Chef's cap for the ceremony. The afternoon was soaked in happiness as the crowd joked and mixed the ingredients in merriment. Event was concluded with a Hi-Tea.

Considered to be a harbinger of good tidings and happiness, the traditional cake mixing ceremony is a much celebrated concept in European nations. The ceremony marks the beginning of the New Year celebrations and is believed to bring good luck for the coming year. ON CHRISTMAS EVE, THE MIXTURE WILL BE BLENDED WITH CAKE BATTER TO MAKE THE DELICIOUS GIANT PLUM CAKE.

Sounding excited at the occasion, ADAM SZCZECHURA, EXECUTIVE CHEF, HYATT REGENCY GURGAONsaid, "Our cake this year is going to be special. We are adding all varieties of nuts, juices, and spirits to prepare the dough for the cake. We have used cashew nuts, walnuts, apricots, figs, cherries, and dates. We are also using several spirits such as brandy and rum to give that heady flavor".

GENERAL MANAGER, MR. FEDERICO MANTOANI said, "Cake mixing is popular in our culture in the west but I am happy to see it being celebrated with equal enthusiasm here in India. It's all about ushering in joy and happiness".
